Summer Wedding in Fredericksburg, Virginia | Bill + Katie
Bill was turned around, facing the alter, tears running down his face. A manly man of course, so it was just some allergies. Katie, linked arms with her father, glowed as she walked down the isle. It was a special day full of love and laughter with their loved ones as the two said 'I do' on some of her family's property.
It was certainly a hot one considering it was the end of June, but we couldn't have asked for a prettier day. Blue skies, a few clouds, and shade, and we were ready to go. This was a special wedding for myself as well. I have known Bill and Katie for a few years now, and was so honored they asked me to capture this day for them. It was so fun being in the room capturing detail shots as Katie and her bridesmaids were getting ready and telling stories. Everyone was relaxed and easy going throughout the whole day.
My favorite part of the day however, was the prayer before the ceremony. They wanted to keep things traditional by not seeing each other before the ceremony, but they also wanted a time to pray together before the big moment. So, we brought Bill out and hid him behind a tree with Pastor John, then walked Katie down to join hands with him for a time of prayer. It was a beautiful moment to hear Pastor John's prayer over them for safety, wisdom, love, and reflection.
As Katie walked down the isle, you could see and feel just how much Bill loves her. As they went for the kiss, Bill had a little "heck yeah!" moment that was absolutely adorable... you'll see in the photo below! The rest of the evening was so much fun. Everyone was smiling and chatting and, of course, gettin down to the 'Cupid Shuffle'. The reception was complete with a solo performance by the flower girl to 'Let It Go' from Frozen.
Bill and Katie, congratulations on a beautiful wedding day. I pray you make so many amazing memories together and enjoy the life God has planned for you.
There it is... 'heck yeah!' moment! It's too good
